How it all Started
I have spent the last 25 years in corporate america dealing with enterprise grade software and hardware development, Quality Assurance, release engineering, desktops, mobile devices, networks, telecom,Cybersecurity, Severs, Cloud migrations, vendor negotiations, etc. Companies in the Financial Services area ranging from 15K - 70K employees. Throughout these years like many of you I have had to try and safeguard my own family from Cyber threats or figure out how to balance my internet needs to work with the rest of my family's needs for streaming or games etc. I can also only imagine for some of you if you know how to spell "computer" or "internet" you get asked by friends and family to help them, and you do your best.
Me? well, for good or for bad, not only was I a senior executive for one of the largest financial companies in the world, I found myself as the:
Network, web and email administrator for my father's small business
IT Support for my immediate and extended family. This included any purchase, error, upgrade, etc.
Infrastructure Owner and developer for a web and blog site in the cloud for a family member
Infrastructure Owner and developer for a web site and email administrator for a start up in the cloud again for a family friend
Cyber Response team for threats and phishing attempts for numerous friends and family
Repairman repairing/replacing Laptop screens and memory
Repairman repairing/replacing Mobile Device ports, batteries, etc
This list could just keep going on and on and on...
So.. you look at me and and say.. "Just say no".. on the repair items (6 and 7) I did, unless no shop would do, which happens.
On nearly all of the others (1-4), there are resources available that could indeed step in and take my place regardless if I agree if the cost or not.
So that left numbers 5 and 8... and that is what BigDog Business is all about.
